Mentor
Mothers
Supervise and organize the health and
nutrition program, education and co-curricular
programs, outings and workshops of a child
placed in your care. Although the mentor
mothers do not live with the children,
they form core of their everyday lives.
Anybody,
with love, compassion, tons of patience
and willing to spend about two hours a
day can qualify to be a Mentor Mother.
Requirement
Minimum 8-10 hours a week; a long term
commitment
Corporate Mentors
Corporate Mentors provide support in the
professional development and growth of
the Mentee children who visit corporate
offices for weekly mentoring sessions.
The corporate culture of higher education,
discipline and work ethics widens the
children's worldview and aids better goal
setting.
Requirement : Minimum 2 to 3 hours a week
Mentor For
Udayan Shalini Fellows
Mentors for Udayan Shalini
Fellows counsel the girls (fellows) and
guide them when needed. Provide individual
attention, counseling and advice to the
fellows.
Senior educationists, directors from the
department of education, former principals,
professors and teachers are encouraged
to volunteer with our Udayan Shalini Fellows.
Requirement : Minimum 8 hours per month
Tutor
a child
You can tutor a child over weekends in
subjects you possess expertise in. Children
usually face difficulties in subjects
like Math and Science and require tutors
to gain that extra advantage. You can
also schedule a mock exam for children
at a home to better prepare them for their
actual school exams.
Requirment
Minimum 3 to 4 hours per week
Help
prepare for competitive exams
Work with children to provide guidance
and strategy as they prepare for competitive
exams like National Science Talent exam,
Math Olympiad etc. Develop a study plan
and help the student on both academic
and strategy front. Very High 5-6
Provide alternative care to children By
interacting with the Management / Mentor
Mothers / Children at homes you can understand
the current pain areas and look at alternative/established
/new methods to overcome these pains.
Requiment : Minimum 5 to 6 hours per month
Teaching
Introduce
alternative teaching methodologies Each
home is equipped with a computer and white
boards. You can also educate children
about new or existing topics / areas /
subjects in a unique play way method.
Requirment : Minimum 2 to 3 hours per
week

Homes
Non-Academic Mentor Spend
time with a child and understand his/her
true interests, which may have been latent
/ ignored for any reason, and aid in developing
those interest and help him/her actively
pursue that interest as a lifelong activity
/ career. Minimum 8 hours per month
Conduct
educational outings with children
Plan and conduct educational trips with
children to the local museum, zoo, seminar,
event, exhibition etc.
Recreation
and Sports Volunteer
Play a sport with the children Initiate
regular weekly team sporting activities
such as cricket and football and help
build up team spirit amongst children
Extracurricular
activities
Teach the children extracurricular activities
such as music and dance so that they can
participate in annual functions in their
schools and the UdayanCare annual function
