There was a movie a few years ago called 7 which examined the 7 deadly sins which humans face. Well with that thought in mind I am submitting the 7 deadly sins of network marketing online. There could possibly be more than 7 but I am only talking about what I have seen and what I have done myself. These are in no particular order:
1. Marketing products or services that you don’t even use — There are thousands of affiliate marketing opportunities and network marketing opportunities out there online. All of these offer great compensation opportunities. But please, if you haven’t used the product then you can’t be a good advocate for the product. If you do market it you become part of the hype blowing machine that has given this industry a bad name.
2. Looking for all the quick fixes and shortcuts — Guaranteed signups, top SEO rankings within 24 hours, 50,000 hits to your site tomorrow, best leads on the net and the list goes on. These are quick fixes and very seldom do they work. Save your money and learn the right way to do things.
3. Caring more about the comp plan than the product or service — A key to long term success on the internet is to have a renewable product that has customers who aren’t just marketing the product. I have heard people say the product doesn’t matter just the comp plan. Well if that is your focus the other thing that won’t last long is your opportunity.
4. Sending prospects to your company website — Company sites are good for getting product information but are a terrible place to first send your prospect and they don’t usually convert well. You need to have your own lead capture page that will allow you to get information about people visiting your site and develop a relationship with them. Continue Reading
